My Photography Background

Reposting Plus

[Risking Overkill and Redundance]

In the editorial box of a recently released football glossy mag, I am referred to as a veteran sports photographer. I think it is an honest mistake by the editors but let me correct that description. Deleting the word sports in that line, would be more accurate. I've mentioned in my previous posting, "The Fourth Is With Us" my love for portraiture, which I have been doing for twenty years or so -- Now, that is what I'm a veteran of. If shooting sports from January of 2009 to this present day qualifies me as a veteran ?? hmm -

Well, don't think so.

Let me mention a few of the real veteran [good] sports photographers, at least, those that I know personally, and chat with occasionally --> August de la Cruz, Joey Mendoza, Jun Mendoza. [I used to, and still do, keep clippings of their newspaper photos]

You should see August's "Championship Moment Photo" of the Blue Eagles !! Tang Ina !! It was released in black and white in the Inquirer, but it did not diminish the impact of the photo. His years of experience really pays of there and I even plan to post it, mind you, [JPEG of the scanned newspaper print], soon, for the simple reason that I admire it [with his permission of course]. One thing about these guys too, they are very unassuming [have no swagger or anything of that sort] but their photos -- Ibang klase.

Having said that, allow me to do what I intend to do with this entry --
repost some photos [assuming that most visitors of this blog don't bother with the older postings], and post a few new ones, if only to show my photographic roots.
