TnT vs Petron
Best-of-Seven Semifinals Series
Game 1

A few captionless images here:

Japeth Aguilar blocks Alex Cabagnot.

- Larry Fonacier - SMOOOTH Talker - He lets his basketball do the Talking.
- [5-8] 3-pt. shooting, [1-2] 2-pt. shooting,  [5-5] free throw shooting -
He is AKTV's choive for game MVP.

Alex Cabagnot - 20 points in 40 minutes - 3 rebounds and 3 steals -
decent numbers, but simply not enough for Petron to win.

Arwind Santos [right, #29] is fourth in scoring for the Blaze,
 after Cabagnot, Reyes, and Lutz
but leads ALL rebounders with 20 big ones.

Rob Reyes [#24] follows Alex Cabagnot with 18 markers and 14 rebounds
in 28 minutes. A elimination game loss hurts anyday of the week,
but a Semis loss  - auugh !!,  this one really one hits you hard.

- Final -
   Talk n Text - 87     Petron Blaze- 83

PBA Semifinals Day 1
January 4 - Wednesday
Cuneta Astrodome, Pasay

Rain or Shine  vs   Powerade
Best-of-Seven Semifinals Series
Game 1

The Usual Suspect, Gary D., leads all scorers in the 1st Qtr with 12 markers.
He adds 5 more in the 2nd.

JV Casio contributes 4 points in the 1st Qtr.
He is zilch, though, in the 2nd

For his part, Josh Vanlandingham finds his range, drilling a couple of treys.
He puts in 6 points in the 1st Qtr and another in the 2nd.

- Gary David vs Gabe Norwood -

In 30 minutes on court, Marcio Lassiter struggles mightily and
manages only 2 points, in one of his worst nights ever.

- Rudy Lingganay vs Jervy Cruz [#20] -
Lingganay, Vanlandingham, and Casio each total 12 points for Powerade.

The Powerade Tigers lead by 11 at halftime [54-43] but come the 3rd Qtr, Coach Yeng Guia's charges dominate Bo Perasol's boys and the Tigers are simply taken out of their game.  [Lassiter's lacklustre performance tells on the Tigers].

The 2 photos below show an Elasto Painter making
one of their 5 blocks on Powerade.
This one is on  Rommel Adducul [in white].

[2nd Half Action]
Elasto Painter Larry Rodriguez [in dark blue] plays great D versus
Powerade Tiger Gary David [#20], but David, uses his upper body strength and great athleticism to score one helluva basket.
[3-frame sequence below]

The 7-frame sequence below shows Ryan Arana's great timing -
blocking Rudy Lingganay [in white], who seems to have gained an advantage.

Powerade is not able to match the 75% 2-pt. shooting and the 50% 3-pt shooting of former Tamaraw Jeffrei Chan who nets 27 points for Rain or Shine.

- Jeffrei Chan [#16] -

- - - and of course. there's this other Elasto painter [wearing #3] - - -
No matter if he manages only 3 pts. in the 1st Qtr, 0  in the 2nd -
when it's crunch time this guy DELIVERS.
Paul Lee scores 7 in the 3rd and rocks with 15 big ones in the 4th.
[not to mention his 6 assists in the game]

Yes, Gary David scores 30 for Powerade, but he doesn't get the kind of support Lee gets from his fellow Elasto Painters.

Larry Rodriguez [#5] steps up for Rain or Shine and follows
Jeffrei Chan's 27 and Paul Lee's 25 with 16 of his own.
Larry leads ALL rebounders with 11.

After thwarting a Will Antonio [on the floor] lay-up, Larry Rodriguez controls.

In the end, the Elasto Painters prevail - scoring 35 points in the 3rd and 36 in the 4th.  Powerade manages only 22 points 21 points in the 3rd and 4th respectively.

- Final -
Elasto Painters - 114     Tigers -97
