Random 105

The Smiles Along The Way

Everytime I go to a sports event/venue my mind's eye is primed and programmed to create good action photos - but modesty aside, It's GREAT Images that I'm after. - And if I'm lucky enough I might even get to create an iconic image. - Course, it's easier said than done  - but dude, What have I got to lose with that kind of mind set ??

Yet, even if I get to craft a good number of great action shots - It all wouldn't be completely satisfying without a sprinkling of behind the scenes / impromptu / stolen photos - usually light hearted images of friends and/or acquaintances, and even strangers.

Here are a few recent ones from 2012 mixed w a few from 2011 :

The smile is the only one "little" priceless accessory U can wear
on any occasion, anywhere at anytime - and it goes well with Everything -
Any person regardless of experience, culture, religion,
affiliation or country can appreciate it.

The BEST smiles are actually EFFORTLESS and come from within.

So, always bring a smile wherever you go.
You don't need any bag or pouch
because you can carry it only in your Heart.

Weekend # 2 - Friday - Part 2

January 13, Friday
 Smart Araneta

Talk N Text  vs  Petron
Game # 5
of Best-of-Seven Semifinal Series
[Petron leads the series 3-1]

- The Decisive Final Minute -

Jimmy Alapag scores a big three from the left corner.

For the Draw or Win - Arwind Santos [#29]
attempts from 4 o'clock. Shot falls short.

Danny Idelfonso actually grabs the ball after it grazes the front of the rim.

He puts it down [one bounce] but Texter Jayson Castro [#17] alertly taps it. Larry Fonacier takes control and quicly dribbles it away from the paint
[below] as time expires.

Talk N Text escapes with a 2-point win [just like the Powerade Tigers before them, who beat the Rain or Shine Elasto painters by two, 110-108]. The Texters live to fight another day.

Final
Talk N text - 93     Petron - 91
[The series is now 3-2, with Petron still ahead]

Some action pics here from the first three quarters :

Ya hav ta make Castro and Company bleed for their points - maybe in that way you can lower TnT's point production and/or field goal shooting percentage.

There's Texter Ranidel De Ocampo [#33] to deal with ,
[who's been doing great guns for Chot lately] - -
[photo above and below]

 Ali Peek [#34] - -

[2 b updated with at least 7 more JPEGs] soon]

Jared Dillinger [down on the floor] - -

Larry Fonacier [dribbling the ball] - -

and of course Alapag - Jimmy, that is.

Castro delivers 22 points, de Ocampo -15, Peek -11, Dillinger -10,  Fonacier -10, - a good 67 of the Texters' game total of 93.  Petron outrebounds TnT by 15
[49-34]  but the Texters' field goal and free throw shooting percentages better the Blaze' figures.  Chot Reyes' charges converted 25 charities to Agustin's boys' 12 converted free throws.  Noteworthy is stat that Tnt is awarded 37 free throws while Petron is given only  20.

Weekend # 2 - Friday - Part 1

Powerade  vs  Rain Or Shine
Game #5
of Best-of-Seven Semifinal Series
[Teams tied at two wins apiece]

- The Usual Suspects Deliver for Powerade -

Gary David - 28 pts.              JV Casio - 25 pts.

Marcio Lassiter - 19 pts + 11 rebounds

Doug Kramer [in white] - 10 pts. + 10 rebounds

Sean Anthony [in white]  - 6 pts. + 10 rebounds

For Rain or Shine - J.R. Quinahan, Ryan Arana, Jireh Ibanes, and Larry Rodriguez score 18, 15, 13, and 12 points respectively.  Rodriguez leads the Painters in rebounding, with 10, while Norwood dishes out 4 assists.

Rain or Shine shoots a better 47.7% from the field than Powerade's 37.5%  In the boards department Powerade hauls down 13 more rebounds than Rain or Shine [63-50].  The Tigers convert 4 more charities than the Painters.  All stats considered, the game boils down to execution in the dying minutes.

The end game tenacity [and mental toughnesss] of Powerade wins them the game by the a hairline two. Yeng Guiao's boys have their chances in the dying seconds but, as in a previous game, they miss.  Chan misses a corner three while Belga misses a J from 5 o'clock.

Final
Powerade - 110     Rain or Shine - 108
[Powerade now leads the series 3-2]

For all the obvious rough housing tactics that Boo Belga has had been executing versus the Powerade Tigers - maybe that is Fate's way of letting him and the Elasto Painters pay - > Rain or Shine could have won two games had Belga made his 2 end game Js.

[2 b updated w at least 10 more JPEGs soon
besides the 9 that follow below]

Both Paul Lee and Jeffrei fail to make double figures, but as stated above,
other equally reliable Elasto painters step up.

Being behind by 5 points to a team like Rain or Shine in the last 1:14
is one helluva predicament to be in.

Then, stuff  happens -
Casio scores a left corner three and is fouled.

JV actually falls down [as in slides on his butt, to lighten the impact of his fall] at my feet as the ref signalled "basket counts",  with a foul to boot, at that.  If by chance, I had my wide-angle lens attcahed to my SLR - it is quite possible for me to have made a"top shot" of JV at my feet.  Now, that would have been a real first, a real one-of-a-kind basketball photo.  JV converts the bonus to put Powerade behind by only 1 [108-107].
 [no photo]

After another  converted Powerade free throw and one or two unproductive plays by either team, Marcio Lassiter ends up on the charity lane, again, with barely 16 ticks left, and the score at a deadlock [108-108].

.
Marcio converts both to put the Tigers ahead by only 2 [110-108].
Rain or Shine is unable to tie the match in the dying seconds.

- Game Over -
Final
Powerade  110     Rain or Shine - 108

Yes, Supermen, the Powerade Tigers are not - but - as they say in the vernacular
mayroon silang
- PUSO -
